We put the needs and viewpoints of our residents at the heart of everything we do. Many who come to us have faced trauma, leading to difficulties in engaging with services. That’s why our client-centered model addresses not just practical needs—like housing and employment—but also emotional and psychological ones.
We build trust-based relationships founded on mutual respect, dignity, and celebration of each person’s creativity and potential. No matter the obstacles, we believe everyone has the capacity to take control of their future.

As a Christian organization, our values of compassion, hope, and community guide our work, though there's no requirement for residents to share our faith—they simply need to be comfortable with this influence. What is Sanctuary City Supported Housing?
Sanctuary City provides safe, community-based supported accommodation for single homeless individuals aged 18-55 in Hammersmith & Fulham. As a Christian organization under TREM Place of Our Sanctuary, we offer personalized support plans to help residents build life skills, improve mental health, and prepare for independent living. No faith requirement—residents just need to be comfortable with our values.
Who is eligible for your supported housing?
We accept single persons aged 18-55 who are eligible for Housing Benefit, have medium support needs, and are committed to at least a 6-month stay with regular reviews. We support those in addiction recovery but cannot accommodate current alcohol or drug users. Full risk assessments are required for histories of violence, offenses, self-harm, or severe mental health issues. Pets, alcohol, and smoking are not permitted on premises.
How do I refer someone to Sanctuary City?
Complete our referral form with details on the applicant's personal information, history, support needs, and risks. Email the fully completed form and any supporting documents (e.g., existing support plans) to our team. We require agency consent for information sharing and will assess suitability based on our criteria.
What support do residents receive?
Residents get individualized support plans covering life skills training, budgeting, relationship building, employment preparation, mental health improvement, and healthy lifestyle management. We expect weekly engagement and at least 3 hours per week in activities like volunteering or education. Peer mentoring is also available from those with lived experience.
